Acting as bookshops, galleries, and fashion boutiques all rolled into one, concept stores are replacing traditional retail formats with novel and exciting ideas. It’s never been easier to find ones offering a range of curated products that represent each retailer’s distinctive aesthetic.

This new wave of concept stores continues to emerge in Jeddah, reimagining the shopping experience with inspiration from international markets and local culture. Whether it be a contemporary multi-brand web store or specialist sneaker shop, scroll through to discover Savoir Flair’s top four concept stores in Jeddah.

The M Project

Founded and run by two sisters who translate their contrasting personal style into desirable seasonal looks, online concept store The M Project represents the best of progressive fashion and femininity. With their finger on the pulse of European fashion, the M sisters (who choose to remain anonymous) continue to strengthen their impressive collection of luxury brands season by season – from the graphic and playful MSGM to brand-of-the-moment Attico.

The two sisters have mastered the balance of combining texture and color, thoughtfully selecting unique runway pieces and mix-and-match items that appeal to both the demure and the daring. Their website is clean and easy to navigate, allowing users to scroll through to find home accessories such as the coveted Assouline coffee-table books and Tom Dixon scented candles. For a more tailored experience, you can book a personal shopping appointment at their HQ in Jeddah, where the M sisters themselves will help curate your wardrobe.

Homegrown Market

When visiting Homegrown, you’re visiting much more than a store. Inspired by local markets across Europe, it has quickly become a creative hub that celebrates regional talent. Founder Tamara Abukhadra wanted to start a community that resembles Nine Streets in Amsterdam or Spitalfields in London, where local artisans have a platform to showcase their distinctive designs.

The store stocks a diverse mix of furniture, accessories, fashion, and art – on the roster are emerging talents such as fashion designer Nasiba Hafiz, jewelry label Yataghan, and health-food specialist Sinless. Several brands occupy different corners of the store, each with their own identity and voice, coexisting in a one-stop shop for fun and quirky products that are conceived and produced in the Middle East.

The store has a vibrant atmosphere, complete with a café area lit with suspended mason jars. The open-plan space invites you to walk around and check out the best of what the country has to offer. From Koala Collection’s hand-loomed towels to Innovative Pipes’ customizable pipe lamps, there’s something for everyone – almost as if you were strolling through Saudi Arabia’s very own artisanal market.

Useless

The most laid-back store on our list, Useless is built on the concept of comfort wear. This multi-brand store based in Rawdah has a cool and easy vibe with minimalist design, allowing the products stocked to take center-stage. Filled with graphic tees, hoodies, trainers, and stationery items from local and international designers, Useless is the prime destination for everything young and fresh.

When visiting the store, it’s hard to resist purchasing a new pair of Happiness sweatpants or a Hijaz sweater – and even harder to resist the urge to splurge on a new pair of Yeezy kicks or Adidas ‘NMD’s. The store’s dedication to supplying collectable sneakers for both men and women has kept customers coming back for more, especially with its new pay-upon-delivery option, making it a reliable stop to shop for your everyday essentials.

Jasmine Box

With Jeddah’s ideal coastal location, it’s hard to believe the lack of swimwear and beach-friendly brands. Established in 2008 by childhood friends Faye Behbehani and Sara McKinnon, Jasmine Box filled the gap for a shopping destination that offers a wide variety of daytime items that can take you from beach to brunch. With backgrounds in fashion and interior design, the buyers handpick products that represent their collective boho-chic aesthetic, cultivating a collection of unique brands from Australia to India.

Boasting big-name designers such as Mara Hoffman and Zimmermann, the store is the perfect stop for a floral swimsuit or free-flowing summer dress. Walking through the store, you’ll also stumble upon arched mirrors, patterned pillows, and intricate rugs alongside other decorative accents that are sure to add a pop of color to your living room. With its eclectic product mix, Jasmine Box truly reflects the multi-faceted Jeddah lifestyle.
