A fresh Spring day brings with it the feeling of infinite potential – of discovering that something new, green, and beautiful is around the corner. For Spring/Summer 2017, Sharjah-based designer Reema Al Banna of Reemami captures the season’s youthful vigor and sense of wonder with a playful new collection. She works with denim for the first time to bring a functional feel to her line, and you’ll see lively motifs like detachable strings and knots to add movement to pieces throughout the collection.
In an exclusive interview with Savoir Flair, Al Banna shares the mood behind her latest lookbook, saying, “We wanted to create a fun editorial, so we worked on poses that are natural, yet super playful and unexpected. We shot in different areas of Munich – by historical buildings, on a bike, and even with a dog at one point – to depict the life of a young, fun girl dressed in Reemami.”
One of the lookbook’s most notable features is the pairing of the Reemami collection with sportswear, which Al Banna explained by saying, “Sportswear by brands like Adidas and Nike shows that you’re on the go, young, and effortless, and we thought to combine it with some of the items to show movement and educate our customers on how they can mix the items, dress them up or down.”
The collection is available to shop at LE66 in Dubai, Al Ostoura in Kuwait, and online on Farfetch.com.
