For a brand that has one of the most iconoclastic looks around – one pioneered by the original designer, no less – it’s hard to use the look you’re known for every season and put a fresh spin on it as well.

This season, Lubov and Max Azria took the Hervé Léger bandage dress and updated it (yet again) in a truly come-hither way. Continuing on the same theme from last season’s urban warrior woman, the Azrias take this concept positively medieval. A woman from Westeros in A Game of Thrones would be proud to wear these raw, powerful outfits.

Several times in this collection, the designers marry two disparate ideas: strict and sophisticated body-conscious dresses with sinewy harnesses and corset overlays. This fetishistic attribute leaves one feeling strapped in (and liking it). Tight, flattering silhouettes complimented the gladiator feeling of this collection. Less may be more to some, but a well-placed leather strap is a ferociously sensual touch.
