Miu Miu has joined the faux fur party for Fall/Winter 2017 with a collection upholstered in the most stylish versions we’ve seen to date.
As longtime advocates for cruelty-free fashion, we at Savoir Flair have rejoiced at the luxury sector’s recent embrace of faux fur in place of real fur on runways. In collections past, Stella McCartney has been a pioneering force, while Marco de Vincenzo extracted the fun side with his psychedelic, colorful versions. Now, Miu Miu has joined the party for Fall/Winter 2017 with a collection upholstered in the yummiest faux versions we’ve seen to date. In fact, the entire venue was covered in the stuff, including a grand purple shag on the staircase and the benches themselves. It was like a Muppet factory had exploded, coating everything from humorously “ugly” boots and furry mitts to massive hats and tons of deliciously soft outerwear in a rainbow palette.
There wasn’t really a theme at work, just a lot of super fun, fuzzy looks enticingly styled with crystal belts and huge collars. While faux fur was the main course, a lot of supporting looks came from feminine coordinated separates with embellished details, knitwear topped with oversized brooches, logo-printed frocks, plastic rain coats, and adorable cat pajamas with fur shoulders.
The most playful and alluring collection Miu Miu has shown.
It was ridiculously kitschy, but who could resist the siren song of all those plush, inviting exteriors and whimsical accessories. This is definitely the most playful and alluring collection Miu Miu has shown in a cool minute, and a high note on which to end Paris Fashion Week.
