You heard it here first: full fur is a faux pas heading into Fall/Winter 2017. At least, that’s what New York Fashion Week designers are positing for the forthcoming season. Like menswear-style suits and velvet, fur accents were a huge trend at NYFW. While luxury brands like Fendi and Marco de Vincenzo inspired last year’s mega full-fur trend with plenty of colorful varieties (and subsequent knock-offs), this year the look is all about strategically placed fur accents. That means ditching your enormous bright pink fur chub for a smart leather moto laced with fuzzy patches, à la Proenza Schouler, or opting for one of a dozen jackets finished with shearling collars. Other designers showed slices of fur in the form of well-placed accessories, like the cozy stoles over at Brock Collection or the adorable fur belts at Rachel Comey.
