Now that Halloween is a thing of the past, it’s time to get into a festive mood – and fast. Just yesterday, British luxury brand Burberry helped us along by releasing its holiday campaign in the form of a short film entitled The Tale of Thomas Burberry by Academy Award-winning director Asif Kapadia.
It celebrates the brand’s 160th anniversary and stars some of the biggest and most promising British talents, including Sienna Miller, Lily James, Domhnall Gleeson (who plays Burberry founder Thomas Burberry), and Dominic West. The film was shot on location in Oxfordshire, England, with the cast dressed in a mix of custom-made pieces, replicas from the brand’s archives, and styles from the current collection.
“The film we have made is a brief glimpse inspired by his full and extraordinary life, which threaded its way through the history of the 20th century in all its tumultuous highs and lows,” said Burberry Chief Creative and Chief Executive Officer Christopher Bailey of the project.
