Fashion Forward Dubai, the three-day fashion extravaganza featuring the best of what our region has to offer, has just wrapped. Savoir Flair served as your eyes and ears in case you didn’t get a chance to attend, bringing you the four must-know points that were on everyone’s lips (and Instagram feeds).
Influencers on the Runway
Savoir Flair spotted several new yet familiar faces on the runway. Regional Insta-girls Natalia Shustova, Kat Lebrasse, Shereen Mitwalli, and Lea Yassine walked the runway in Dima Ayad’s Spring/Summer 2017 show.
Playful Presentations
This season’s presentations saw set-ups that felt more audience engaging. House of Nomad, Kage, and Mrs. Keepa are some of the noteworthy contemporary brands that stood out in this regard.
Good Girl Gone Bad
Well, sort of. Madiyah Al Sharqi turned to the street for Spring/Summer 2017, styling her signature pastel-colored lace pieces with suede thigh-high boots and baseball caps. Not only did we see new athleisure-influenced lengths and cuts at the show, but also spotted statement ‘MAS’ earrings and oversized clutches.
Grand Finale
Amato gathered the biggest crowd for his Spring/Summer 2017 show. Dubai-based Filipino designer Furne One turned Hall 1 of d3 into a desert littered with cacti and sand, showcasing yet another theatrical and stunning presentation to remember.
