Raquel Saliba, founder and designer of Belles by Raquel, is a girl after our own hearts. She is passionate about both floral and botanical forms and a keen supporter of local artisans in her hometown of Beirut, Lebanon. Her handcrafted pieces carry a beautifully boho vibe, making them the perfect accents for a fairytale wedding.
Explaining the background of her brand, Saliba tells Savoir Flair, “Growing up, my family always encouraged handicrafts, a talent that my mother helped nurture. My earliest memories include sewing costumes during playtime with my cousins.” The young designer explains that she was drawn specifically towards bridal fashion because, unlike today’s ephemeral fashion trends, bridal style is timeless.
“For me, the most rewarding thing is to see a wedding photo, knowing that the bride chose to wear one of my pieces on this tremendously important day of her life. Funnily (and sadly) enough, I didn’t get to wear a hair accessory at my own Beirut wedding as I had forgotten it in Dubai,” she recalls.
To shop some of the lovely Belles by Raquel pieces, keep an eye on ModaCorner or head to The Bridal Showroom in Dubai, Cream in Jeddah, or Milk Concept Store in Bahrain. If you’d prefer a bespoke piece, you can get in touch with the brand directly.
