They say that, in order to move forward, one must look back – and that’s exactly what the Taller Marmo design duo did. For their Resort 2017 collection, the designers were highly inspired by an illustration dating back to 1581 by Nakkaş Osman, a chief miniaturist painter for the Ottoman Empire during the 16th century.
These prints, splashed across beautiful blazers and wide-leg trousers, are the focal point of the brand’s new collection. The rest of the presentation is just as visually exciting, executed through the expert layering of button-down shirts with extra-long sleeves over striped crop tops in a candy-color palette.

Camel, all the way! We probably would have three, and we would call them Ajsa, Francesco, and Deger.
What’s your favorite tale about the Ottoman Empire?
The harem of Abdul Hamid II; there is a beautiful movie called Harem Suare by Ferzan Özpetek that tells its story.
Have you ever been to Turkey?
Riccardo: I went a couple of times when I was a teen… It is one of my favorite countries.
Yago: Unfortunately not.
If you could choose any flavor in the world to be made into Turkish delight, which would it be?
Dulce de leche!

Every Pedro Almodóvar woman.
If you were to become a nomad, where would you travel to?
Anywhere in South Asia.
