Halloween may still be a few weeks away, but we’re already seeing magic – and it’s splashed across Sandra Mansour’s Spring/Summer 2017 collection. But if you’re thinking that this might be the influence of trend-forecasting agency K-Hole on Chaos Magic, you’d be wrong. In fact, the 32-year-old Lebanese designer found the inspiration for her new collection, entitled ‘La Fleur des Eaux’, from a poem of the same name by French poet Maurice Bouchor.
For the forthcoming season, Mansour stuck to her signature design formula, which includes intricate threadwork, lavish embellishments, and dreamy fabrics, always resulting in decadent dresses fit for any special occasion. Additionally, she blended floral prints with elements of surrealism and sea components, such as a holographic seashell, to make for a collection that is simultaneously heavenly but also very much of this world.
