Rodarte’s ability to balance boho vibes, toughness, eeriness, and maximalism in its collections has always been exceptional. For Spring/Summer 2017, designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy showcased this skill by going all out when accessorizing the show’s looks at New York Fashion Week. Jewelry, hair accessories, and footwear simultaneously drew the eye – so much so that it felt impossible to take in all the details at once. Find out how to accessorize like the SS17 Rodarte girl in Savoir Flair’s breakdown of the look, below.
Limitless Ear Jewelry
Ear cuffs have been in for a while, but a Rodarte girl doesn’t stop at that. For Spring 2017, the look got a serious runway update with mono drop earrings in an oversized silhouette. And you can forget about wearing a single necklace – the way forward is with an ornamental chain that connects both ears. Cooler than your average jewelry? Absolutely.
Forest-Fairy Hair
A Rodarte girl’s hair is an extra platform for accessorizing. Tulle-draped floral pins and hair clips, adorned with delicate sequins, contributed to the eerie, forest-fairy look.
Layered Cuffs
Both arms got a lot of love on the Rodarte runway and were adorned with symmetrically layered cuffs in mixed-metal hues. The wrist candy that we spotted was especially striking, with colorful stones and plenty of movement.
Studded and Patchworked Leather Footwear
Mixed-and-matched exotic skins, leathers in earthy hues, and delicately studded shoes made for a beautifully balanced mix of boho and chic. The design duo kept heels high for a sexy look.
