Omani sisters Lubna and Nadia Al Zakwani have traded on their native country’s natural beauty since they first launched their luxury ready-to-wear label, Endemage, in 2010. Over the past six years and via multiple collections per year, Endemage has continued to celebrate its Middle Eastern heritage through vividly imagined textures and the modernization of traditional silhouettes.
For Fall/Winter 2016, the natural springs that snake their way between Oman’s mountain crevices are directly represented throughout the collection as embroidered outlines that enliven the surface of luxe fabrics. “For FW16, we focused on creating new fabrics through our embroidery as we consider it to be an Endemage signature. We created looks using shades of white, gray, burnt orange, and navy blue, which reflect the shades of a sunset in the desert on a winter night,” Lubna tells Savoir Flair exclusively. For day, the design duo presents sheer cropped tops and perfectly tailored trousers with rolled cuffs, each featuring the “natural springs” in embroidered form. Slim-cut shorts, waterfall-ruffle sleeveless tops, and kimono-wrap blouses also feature as part of daywear.
For an upgrade on workwear that transitions easily to evening, there are beautiful trousers with sheer, embroidered side panels, smart shirtdresses with shoulder cutouts, turban-wrapped maxi skirts in luxe silks, and midi skirts with asymmetrical overlays. Eveningwear contains a mesmerizing selection of gowns etched with multicolored stitching in styles both fitted and fluid.
