A show of hands for those who enjoy shopping but loathe the idea of going through the whole fitting-room experience. Do you remember the scene from the nineties classic movie Clueless, during which the main character played by Alicia Silverstone, Cher Horowitz, tries on clothes from her virtual closet? It’s been a long time coming, but 20 years later, it has finally become a reality – and you can actually try this out for yourself if you make your way to The Galleria Mall in Abu Dhabi. Starting this weekend, the luxury mall is re-introducing the futuristic service called ‘The Virtual Style Pod’.

‘The Virtual Style Pod’, in simple terms, is a fancy computer program that uses augmented reality to allow shoppers to virtually try on outfits without the hassle of having to undress. The system uses a 3-D body-mapping technology combined with life-sized mirrors, granting shoppers a 360-degree view of their outfits with the additional ability to mix and match pieces from the Spring/Summer 2016 collections of participating luxury brands such as Fendi, Kenzo, Lanvin, Tom Ford, and Carolina Herrera.

Head to the capital to experience the virtual dressing room and have a major Clueless moment from May 4th to July 17th.
