Fall/Winter 2016’s accessories trends couldn’t be more diverse, with the flamboyant and over-the-top on the one hand and the toned-down and minimalist on the other. That being said, the more excessive approach seems to have come out on top, dominating the runways of all “Big Four” fashion capitals. An outside-the-box mindset is the order of the day for the upcoming season, with the key message being individuality – and loads of it. Here, Savoir Flair rounds up the key accessories trends to know and buy for Fall/Winter 2016.

White Out

For Fall 2016, there is one color you won’t be able to get around. White bags and belts were major contenders on the runway and are perfect for the new season, but the inescapable accessory for fall is undoubtedly white footwear. In different shapes and forms, the white shoe was a definite winner at Fashion Month.

Power Pieces

The most important thing to know and note for FW16 is the reign of statement earrings. From the mono earring to mix-and-match styles or shoulder-dusters, the look can be tailored to one’s individual taste. These pieces boast plenty of personality and are not for the faint of heart, but they promise to instantly make any outfit more modern and ready for the season ahead.

Sneaky Socks

While heels worn with socks did make sporadic appearances during Fall/Winter 2015, this pairing is a prominent style for next season. Playing with colors is encouraged, open-toe shoes are allowed, and individuality is – once again – key.

The New Choker

If you thought chokers were so last season, think again. They’re still very much a major trend for FW16 – albeit with a new update. Forget the traditional look and opt for new, unusual styles instead. A key piece for the season is Rodarte’s buckled number, while Chanel’s intricate beauties are definitely worth the investment.
