East Wing, a photography space launched in Dubai in 2014, brings a must-see exhibition entitled Nick Waplington/Alexander McQueen: Working Process to the UAE. Held from February 4th until March 3rd at Limestone House in DIFC, the exhibition showcases the unique collaboration between Yemeni-born British photographer Nick Waplington and one of the most influential fashion designers of the last two decades, the late Lee Alexander McQueen.
The photo exhibition documents and captures the unglamorous side of the fashion world through Waplington’s lens, showcasing candid images of Alexander McQueen’s creative process during his work on his critically acclaimed Fall/Winter 2009 collection. ‘Horn of Plenty’, which would become his penultimate collection, features dramatic, couture-like gowns that were presented in Paris against a debris-filled backdrop of recycled materials from his previous shows.
Ahead of the exhibition, rediscover some of the best looks from McQueen’s Fall/Winter 2009 collection.
