Vera Wang presented a Spring/Summer 2014 collection with an artful and sporty core.
Give us a W. Give us an A. Give us an N. Give us a G. What does that spell? Wang.
Black techno-net, zip-up baseball jackets and cobalt silk-chiffon, asymmetrical sling dresses were presented for Vera Wang Spring/Summer 2014. The sporty-meets-sexy trend was in full effect with materials such as mesh and stretch jersey, as well as racer-back silhouettes. Black chiffon criss-cross straps and corded lace details created a sports uniform feel, while camisole slips infused a necessary femininity into the designs.
Wang’s dreamy hand-painted, brush-stroke detailing reminded the audience why she’s the belle of bridal, while the vibrant, monochrome reds, yellows, and blues kept the collection vivacious. Look out world! We already know Wang has conquered the courtship ceremony, and this season it appears she’s looking to become the queen of the athletic court as well.
