Bahraini designer, Amal Al Mulla, is lighting up the scene for Spring/Summer 2016 with her effervescent collection of feminine silhouettes, featherweight fabrics, and delicate details. While some frocks display dainty embroidered flowers, others come in solid shades of beige, with wrap details. The latter are delicately encircled by contrasting leather ribbons that suggest the wearer is holding on to an inner secret. In an exclusive interview with Savoir Flair, Al Mulla shares how she came up with this romantic, beautiful lookbook for the coming season. “We were inspired this season by the infinite romance and lightness that exist within nature’s ways. The way a new season approaches, the way spring awakens after fall, the way the light shows up after dark and all the beauty that it carries through,” she says. Al Mulla’s connection to her subject is strong, indicating that she knows her clients and their innermost desires well. “With the idea being parallel to our woman herself, we created an array of pieces that would help both empower and celebrate her individuality, her chaos, her beauty, and her warmth all at once,” she shares.
