The idea of a collaboration between master jeweler Stephen Webster and famed artist Tracey Emin is at the same time so incredible and yet so natural that it’s almost surprising it hasn’t happened yet. The two go way back; they’ve known each other since their teenage years spent in a British seaside town and certainly have a lot in common, from memories to creative synergy.
The 35-piece collection uses fair-trade and recycled gold, as sustainability is a matter close to Tracey’s heart, and references some of her signature neon signs and animal motifs from her book One Thousand Drawings. With slogans such as “More Passion” and “With You I Breathe”, the pieces are true to Emin’s emotionally charged aesthetic and merge it effortlessly with Webster’s well-known rock ’n’ roll vibe.
A selection of pieces will go on sale on Net-a-Porter on January 20th, and the full collection will be available at Stephen Webster stores starting February 10th.
