Although fashion is constantly in a state of flux, one element that remains relatively the same season after season is the Fashion Week schedule. In fact, some houses have been showing at the same venue and time slot for years. However, Alexander McQueen, one of Paris Fashion Week’s top shows, has announced that it will be relocating from Paris to London for Fall/Winter 2016. Rumors are circulating that the move occurred in order to pay homage to the brand’s founder, Alexander “Lee” McQueen, who was originally from London, as the show is slated to take place just ten days after the fifth anniversary of his tragic death. The brand announced via Twitter that the scheduling change would only apply for the Fall/Winter 2016 calendar and that the show would return to Paris as normal for the following season.
