For the first time ever, Pantone, the world’s official color forecaster, named two hues as the predominant colors of 2016: Rose Quartz and Serenity. By tapping into the consumer conscious, Pantone landed on these two colors as a reflection of people’s desire to buy calmer colors, saying, “As consumers seek mindfulness and well-being as an antidote to modern-day stresses, welcoming colors that psychologically fulfill our yearning for reassurance and security are becoming more prominent.”

While Pantone keeps their methods of forecasting a secret, a quick look at recent trends over at Chanel, Salvatore Ferragamo, Peter Pilotto, and Dior point to the timeliness of the color pronouncement, with variations of Rose Quartz and Serenity popping up multiple times on each brand’s respective runways. We’re asking you what Pantone color you’re wearing for 2016, but really, the answer seems to be: why not both?
