A mother’s pain is something that you’ll never fully understand until you become one, but one thing that’s sure and true is that it leaves a lasting impression on your heart. This impression was the driving creative force behind Dubai-based Pakistani designer Amira Haroon’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection, called ‘The Blooms in My Garden’. Speaking to Savoir Flair, Haroon shares, “As I watched and felt the pain of my child’s injuries, I realized that, like all procreators, I am a mother before I am human.” That emotional moment translated into a 30-piece collection consisting of hyperreal floral prints on lace and quilted fabrics in contemporary cuts to suit a more grown-up and mature Amira Haroon woman.
