Dubai is a city known for its luxury and extravagance, and when it comes to satisfying your sweet tooth, its bakeries are no exception. From melt-in-your-mouth croissants to decadent cakes that are almost too beautiful to eat, Dubai’s bakeries are a haven for pastry enthusiasts. So without further ado, let’s take a delicious journey through the best bakeries in Dubai that are sure to leave you wanting more.

article @BAGERIFORM

Bageri Form

Bageri Form is like a slice of Scandinavian heaven in the heart of Dubai Design District. From its laid-back, open-plan Scandi kitchen, this homegrown bakery serves up flaky pastries, decadent desserts, and still-warm-from-the-oven loaves of bread all inspired by the baking heritage and culinary traditions of Scandinavia. The master bakers behind the counter know exactly what they’re doing when they tantalize you with their Danish pastries and Swedish buns, cruffins, croissants, bagels, and scrumptious cheesecakes. We recommend a work-from-Bageri-Form situation.

article @CAKEBOUTIQUE.DIFC

The Cake Boutique

The Cake Boutique claims that it is the place “where delicious and art are synonymous,” and well, we have to admit, they’re kind of right. Its decadent and beautiful cakes are made to order, or you can choose the option of designing your own. The Cake Boutique does wonders with flavors and sugar and creates stunning towers of mouth-watering art. It’s our go-to when we have a special occasion to celebrate, and if you’re throwing a birthday party, your guests will love the delicious little cake popsicles that come in all kinds of designs from cute and cuddly to romantic or astrological. A word to the wise: make sure you have a few friends around to help you enjoy it all because these cakes are massive. Massively delicious, that is.

article @INESCHATTI.PATISSERIE

Ines Chatti Patisserie

Ines Chatti Patisserie is a new addition to the pastry scene in Dubai, but where it may be small, it is mighty. French pastry chef Ines Patti distinguishes herself with her delicate French creations that are at once pleasing to the eye as well as the tastebuds. She creates bespoke cakes and personalized treats infused with the scents of France from the lavender fields of Provence to the spring rose blooms of Paris. We love the elegance and sophistication in the packaging (it is the perfect luxury treat for a friend, mother, or special occasion), and each delicious delicacy is almost too beautiful to eat. Almost.

article @KREMADESSERTS

Krema

Krema is so brand new that not many people have heard of it yet. We’re sure that will soon change as it is absolutely delicious. You can find the little dessert shop at Two at Symphony in Dubai Mall. It’s a chocolate-lover’s paradise offering moist, layered cakes bursting with sweetness and flavor. We had tiramisu and the balance of each, airy layer from the mascarpone (whipped so light and fluffy) to the chocolate, biscuits, and cream was perfect, even after spending some time in our refrigerator. It was the perfect amalgamation of everything we love and definitely why it made this list.

article @LITTLEVENICECAKEDUBAI

The Little Venice Cake Company

Get ready to indulge in some of the most ornate cakes in the Middle East. The Little Venice Cake Company opened its doors this year in the newly launched Atlantis The Royal much to our sweet tooth’s delight. Helmed by the baker to the stars, Mich Turner, the couture cake atelier is renowned for its indulgent and bespoke confections. Within its vast collection of cakes, cupcakes, and slices, this bakery has something for everyone, including a raspberry, rose, and pistachio cupcake that will make you dance with joy.

article @MADELEINE.ET.MARCEL

Madeleine et Marcel

Located within the heart of Dubai's vibrant city center, Madeleine et Marcel offers far more than just a respite from the hustle and bustle. Here, the art of French patisserie is elevated to poetic heights, where each pastry feels like an edible sonnet. Time-honored techniques meet modern flair, resulting in delicacies that are both visually stunning and gastronomically exquisite. Croissants boast a flawless, flaky exterior, giving way to a melt-in-your-mouth buttery core. Macarons, in an array of imaginative flavors, serve as dainty jewels for the palate. And let's not overlook the pièce de résistance: their namesake Madeleines, so soft and tender that they virtually dissolve upon first bite. In a city where opulence often takes center stage, Madeleine et Marcel offers a nuanced, sophisticated take on indulgence — one where elegance and flavor waltz in perfect harmony.

article @RISE.BAKEHOUSE

Rise Bakehouse

This one is a Savoir Flair office favorite, not just because it’s delicious, nor because it supports a homegrown local business, but because the mini cakes are the perfect, personal size to send a playful yet yummy message to your co-workers and friends. Through the “make your own” option, we’ve sent birthday messages, jokes, congratulations, condolences, and ‘just because’ cakes back and forth since we discovered Rise Bakehouse. It always brings a little spark of joy when we get a squealing phone call from our boss laughing at our latest cake message. Rise Bakehouse is our love language.

article @RISENDUBAI

Risen Café & Artisanal Bakery

Not only do we consider this one of the best places to go for breakfast in Dubai, we absolutely love the bakery at Risen Café & Artisanal Bakery. This entirely homegrown concept opened its first location in 2022 at the Millennium Place Hotel in Dubai Marina and has since blown up in popularity and expanded to three other locations, which nobody was surprised about. Its trademark is delicious, artisanal bread and pastries made with locally-sourced ingredients because sustainability and seasonality are at the heart of everything it does. Plus, the baristas at Risen take their coffee very seriously, sourcing the highest quality beans, roasting them locally, and preparing them with care, flair, and almost any coffee art design you ask for (and if they can’t do it then, you can bet the next time you visit they’ve learned how).

article @SCARLETS.AE

Scarlet's Bakery and Patisserie

There’s nothing more heavenly than the drifting scent of freshly baked bread. With a selection of German goodies like what we found at Scarlet’s Bakery and Patisserie, let’s just say it’s best to sample an array of goodies from the display before you select your favorite item. The cheese bun filled with gouda cheese (warmed up, of course), a pretzel with tomato and mozzarella, and a focaccia bun satiate even the pickiest savory taste buds, but the ‘Berliner’ – a traditional German doughnut with powdered sugar on top and a custard-and-jam filling – brooks no argument when it comes to your sweet tooth. Of course, the Franzbrötchen does give it a run for its money, but either way, we’re pretty sure Scarlet knows a thing or two about serving up the finer things in life.

article @SISISEATERY

Sisi's Eatery

This is what a love letter from Vienna feels like. Romantic, eclectic, indulgent — the ambiance and culinary offering at Sisi’s Eatery is a nostalgic affair. SchnitzelsSacher Dome, and over 50 varieties of pastries and cakes aside, our favorite is the freshly made Kaiserschmarrn, the fluffiest and tastiest pancakes we’ve ever had. Oh, and did we mention they have their own blends of specialty coffee beans too? The perfect café does exist after all – all the way from Austria.

Susan's Baking Company

If you’re looking for an authentic American sweetshop (think homemade blueberry pie, key lime, pie, and the best pecan pie in Dubai you can find), then look no further than Susan’s Baking Company. Inspired by cities around the United States, the passionate baker from Chicago opened her bakery in the heart of downtown. The cozy, chic bakery offers indoor and outdoor seating, with a larger-than-life map on the wall where guests can pin where they’re from. It’s also a restaurant and is a perfect spot to enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert or catch up with friends over a cup of coffee and a slice of apple pie.

article @VARAKTHEEDIBLELUXURY

Varak

We happened upon Varak quite by accident. We were at a supper club and the founders and owners – the most adorable couple Preet and Diva Vasudev – were there with us and ended the night by giving out samples of their famous brittle. It was so addictive; one moment it was in our hands and the next it was completely gone. Since then we’ve tried their cakes, trifles, travel loaves, and every flavor of brittle they weren’t sold out on. Last time we checked, they had a pop-up in Alserkal Avenue and we couldn’t be more proud of this homegrown brand. Great people really do bake great treats.

article @YAMANOTEATELIER

Yamanote

Japanese bakeries are some of the best in the world and rival even the French for irresistibly delicious desserts. Light, fluffy, and delicate, Yamanote Atelier is Dubai’s very own, homegrown Japanese bakery and café. Its emphasis on authentic Japanese ingredients sourced from Japan and the country’s legendary art of precision in baking has earned it a reputation for being one of the best bakeries in Dubai. Since 2013, it has expanded to 13 different branches, the latest of which – Ya Baum – offers a unique dessert experience inspired by the Japanese Baumkuchen cake, which celebrates Japanese culture and culinary tradition.
