Jean-Georges Kitchen, the little sister of French fine-dining haunt Jean-Georges Dining Room, both of which are located at the Four Seasons Dubai at Jumeirah Beach, strikes an unusual and refreshing balance in Dubai’s ever-evolving restaurant scene. Its unpretentious yet trendy atmosphere, complex but simply satisfying menu (dishes range from foie gras to fried chicken), and well-heeled but not over-the-top crowd make it the perfect place for a casual night out with friends this weekend.

A Fine-Dining Heritage
The restaurant was founded by the critically acclaimed Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, the name behind such cult establishments as ABC Kitchen and The Mercer Kitchen in New York City. It marks his first venture into the Middle East.
Three Michelin stars, over 40 years in the industry, and an innate understanding of the culinary arts mean that Vongerichten’s menu and delicate ballet of flavors are not ones you’ll soon forget.

A Relaxed Setting
Although it is located in one of Dubai’s most prestigious resorts and sits alongside its more refined sister restaurant, Jean-Georges Kitchen takes the appearance of a relaxed, chic café. The “exhibition-style open kitchen”, modern wooden chairs, and stone tabletops make for a trendy setup – not unlike the kind you would find in New York and London. Forget fancy linens and a confusing amount of cutlery – this is a place where your slides will look just as much at home as your bestie’s sky-high Manolos.

An International Menu
A mélange of French, Asian, and American flavors serves as the basis for the JGK menu, which works as a sharing concept. Expect such mouthwatering pairings as ‘Foie GrasBrûlée with Pineapple Jam and Toasted Brioche’, ‘Lobster and Mozzarella with Lemon Zest and Black Pepper Pizza’, and ‘Crackling Beef Short Rib with Cheddar Potatoes and Crunchy Garnishes’. The ‘Hamachi with Crushed Olives, Lemon, and Jalapeño’ is also a must-try.
