In what is sure to go down in history as one of the grandest, most beautiful Weddings of 2015, Maya Tamer and Tarek Zard married in front of an audience of 1,500 people at Beit Misk in Lebanon. It was a veritable Who’s Who of the Middle Eastern social scene — with the Lebanese Prime Minister, the General of the Army, several members of the American embassy, and other notable dignitaries in attendance.
What really differentiated this wedding from any other was the unbelievable fantasy wedding gown that Elie Saab crafted for Tamer. Speaking to Savoir Flair exclusively, the bride revealed, “I wanted a dress with a gradient color that went from white to pink and lilac, and Elie went from there.” Saab elevated her vision to new heights by creating a stunning tulle-and-organza gown, covered in paillettes and approximately 50,000 Swarovski crystals, that was so densely constructed that it took four months to complete. The curving train expanded from the bodice of the gown and swept the floor at a length of more than six feet, fading from white to a deeper lilac. The first time Tamer saw the dress, she couldn’t believe her eyes; “I was completely in awe,” she gushes. “It looked even better than what I had imagined — it was simply the most gorgeous dress I had ever seen.”
