Let’s be honest, after you’ve worked all week, the last thing you want to do is waste your precious R&R time sifting through offers and websites. So we’ve done the hard work for you and selected the most interesting, unique, fun, and exciting activities happening in Dubai this weekend that you won’t want to miss. So whether it’s a one-night only special performance, a new exhibit, an interesting cultural workshop, or even just a well-deserved spa treatment, you will never worry about what you should do this weekend again.
Expo Is Open!
We’ve literally been waiting years for this day, and it is finally happening. Dubai Expo 2020 opens its doors this weekend and a world of new tastes, sights, sounds, smells, and ideas await. Leave your heels at home and put on your sneakers, because the Expo site is massive. Be sure to check out these five things that we cannot wait to see in person, and based on everything we’ve heard, make sure you make time to see Expo during the day, as well as at night, for a completely different experience.
Take Your Girls to a Pinktober Brunch
Grosvenor House is hosting a slew of events across the month of October in support of breast cancer awareness month, starting this Friday with a special brunch at Buddha-Bar. The delicious brunch is closing its doors for the season, but not without going pink one last time for this weekend’s final brunch. A large portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Al Jalila Foundation, so you and your girls can enjoy the brunch knowing that you and, well, your girls, are covered. While you’re at it, don’t forget your annual breast check at your physician’s office.
See the New James Bond in 007 Style
Kempinski Hotel is launching an exclusive private cinema experience for the release (finally!) of No Time To Die, starting this weekend and only through October 14th. You and your guests will be ushered into a private lounge, complete with memorable Bond music to set the scene and waiters in tuxedos serving classic drinks – shaken, not stirred, of course – followed by a private cinema viewing of Daniel Craig’s last foray as James Bond. There is also an extensive gourmet menu, so you can enjoy treats in the lounge or at your seat while enjoying the movie.
Grab a Cuppa For World Coffee Day
It’s World Coffee Day on October 1st, and we for one, love to celebrate this day every single morning of our lives. So why not make it special this weekend by visiting Jones the Grocer in Emirates Hills for a little coffee and cake? The newly redone Emirates Golf Course is right next door, and a cup of joe before a round of golf seems like our kinda morning.
Catch a Thriller Live in Alserkal
It may not be Halloween yet, but The Junction theater in Alserkal Avenue is serving up high stakes this weekend with H72‘s production of Wait Until Dark starring Meghana Mundkur and Amit Ghosh. Directed by 13-year theater veteran, Arjun Burman, this riveting cat-and-mouse suspense thriller follows the recently-blinded Susan Hendrix as she becomes the target of a gang of criminals who will stop at nothing to get what they want. With a shocking finale and a stellar cast, it is certainly one we will not be missing.
