Muna and Mohammed El-Kurd Named One of Time's 100 Most Influential People

Muna El-Kurd and Mohammed El-Kurd, the Palestinian twins from Sheikh Jarrah who took to social media to report live about what was really happening in Palestine as Israel attempted to steal their and their neighbor’s homes, have been named as one of Time’s ‘100 Most Influential People of 2021’ list.

They’re joined on the list by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, as well as Billie Eilish, Britney Spears, Naomi Osaka, Simone Biles, Joe Biden, and Donald Trump. Jada Pinkett-Smith also made the list along with her mother, Adrienne Banfield Norris (a.k.a. Gammy), and her daughter, Willow Smith, for their work on Red Table Talk, where they bridge the generational gap and are refreshingly unafraid to discuss hard topics.

Britney is Engaged! Britney is Missing!

Last week, Britney Spears announced on Instagram that she was engaged to longtime sweetheart, Sam Asghari. However, a comment by Octavia Spencer – who later apologized and claimed it was a joke – urging the singer to “make him sign a prenup” sparked a slew of comments from concerned fans. Rightfully so, as the singer has only recently started making headway in her conservatorship battle with her father, and has been regaining control over her own finances. Asghari joked good-naturedly on his own channels about making sure he signs the prenup so Spears cannot take his sneakers, but a few days later, Spears removed all of her posts from her Instagram, and finally deleted the account altogether. A tweet from the star says she’s taking time off to enjoy her engagement, however, when it comes to Spears, we all tend to get a little protective.

Billie Eilish Got Oscar de la Renta to Stop Selling Fur Forever

Billie Eilish used her mega-star power for good when she agreed to wear Oscar de la Renta to the 2021 Met Gala – which also sealed the deal that she has achieved Marilyn Monroe bombshell status – in exchange for only one thing: the major New York fashion house would agree to cease all sale of furs both now and in the future. Oscar de la Renta has stopped using furs on the runway for a few years now, but still sold clothing made with animal fur in its stores, which now, thanks to the vegan of seven years, will no longer be the case.
