“I think music in itself is healing. It’s an explosive expression of humanity. It’s something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we’re from, everyone loves music.” ― Billy Joel

Turn up the volume, because live music and entertainment are back in Dubai, and honestly, we are more than ready for it. There is very little we love more than going to a new, funky place with some friends, enjoying some appetizers and drinks, and listening to live music. Whether its jazz, blues, Latin, or rock and roll, a night out with live music is always a good night.

However, sometimes it can feel like we are constantly scouring the internet for the best places to catch some of Dubai’s most talented singers and musicians only to find that a list is outdated, or there isn’t much on. So Savoir Flair has decided to compile a list of our favorite spots featuring the best of the best in live music and keep it updated on a monthly basis so you always know when and where to go.

Feel free to check back here every month for the most up-to-date information on where you can find live music in Dubai, no matter what day of the week it is. Good times guaranteed.

Fibber Magee's

Best for: Irish Bands and Covers

One of Dubai’s best-kept secrets, Fibber Magee’s has a pretty healthy line-up of live music almost every day of the week. You’d expect nothing less from an Irish pub, after all. It’s literally impossible not to sing along at the top of your lungs. Check out Irish native Des Renehan‘s ‘Desert Sessions, Chad Sycamore‘s covers, or see a full Irish band take to the stage for a rollicking good time.

Best for: Jazz

Get swept up in the sultry tunes of jazz by Lady J and Felix as they sing your blues away at Masti in La Mer. It’s a casual affair with great food, but if you want that jazz fix with some of the tastiest Indian cuisine, in a fun and relaxing setting by the beach, this pretty much checks all the boxes.

Bull & Bear

Best for: Soul, Jazz, Motown, R&B

If you want to take a trip down to New Orleans with some of the heaviest hitters in soul Dubai has to offer, then head over to Bull & Bear in DIFC, easily one of the best American restaurants in town. With Ray Charles-inspired Tuesday nights, we can’t think of a better way to end hump day. Unless of course you pass by on a Wednesday night for their jazz night, or Thursday nights for Mo Town, or Fridays for R&B. Okay, we think you get it.

Q's Bar and Lounge

Best for: Cuban

Definitely one of Dubai’s favorite places to catch live music, and certainly one of ours, Q’s Bar and Lounge at Palazzo Versace serves up the hottest musicians in the city again and again and again. They’ve given us Dubai-based favorite Layla Kardan, and international music sensation, Rogelio Douglas, and now they present Cubache, a homegrown Cuban ensemble treating us to their Latin and afro-beats from 7:30pm to 1am.

The Irish Village

Best for: Guitar Sessions

Singer/record producer Michael Gormley can be found with his guitar in The Irish Village in Garhoud as well as in Studio City on Thursdays and Fridays. Like ships passing in the night, Kara Gray also delights the crowds at whichever venue Gormley isn’t playing at, so that whichever Irish Village you do go to, you will be sure to hear good music. The only difference is while Studio City plays from 8pm to 11pm, Garhoud likes to start a little later and runs from 9pm to 12 midnight.
