Dubai is like Disneyland for adults (and kids too), but it can be overwhelming and time-consuming to filter through everything our gorgeous city has to offer on the weekends. Let’s be honest, after you’ve worked all week long, the last thing you want to do is waste your precious R&R time sifting through offers and websites. Sometimes, you miss the best events because it takes too long to find them.
Savoir Flair is here to help start your weekend off on the right note, by giving you our favorite picks for what you should be doing this weekend in Dubai. So whether it’s a much-needed day at the beach, a well-deserved spa treatment, or a day of adventure, you have never felt more on holiday than you will in Dubai this weekend.
For the Daycation
Spend the day at One & Only Royal Mirage. The grand pool is impressive enough, but the 1 km stretch of private beach is one of the best places to catch the sunset in Dubai. If you’re over 18, head to the adults-only pool for the perfect day of relaxation and peace. The white latticework and Mediterranean colors will make you feel like you are on holiday if just for a day. Catch some drinks at the Jetty Lounge and grab dinner at Drift. You may love it so much you’ll ask to stay the night.
Race a McLaren at the Dubai Autodrome Circuit
Don’t tell me you can’t fulfill all of your dreams in Dubai. It has recently come to our attention that we don’t have to be Toni Breidinger to spend some time on the automotive race tracks. You can have a racing experience of your very own at the Dubai Autodrome Circuit driving a BMW, a Ferrari, a Clio, a McLaren – sign us up! – or even an F1. If your driving license isn’t up to date, don’t worry. They also have a passenger experience as well, because Dubai is literally the definition of living life in the fast lane.
Hike a Wadi in Fujairah
Before it gets too hot to trot, this is the perfect weekend to head out to Fujairah and hike a wadi – valley – to enjoy some fresh air, exercise, and the deliciously cool pools afterwards. Wadi Abadilah is a family-friendly hike for every fitness level, meaning you will be hiking over mostly flat terrain. The greenery, views, and natural pools filled with tadpoles and frogs are a bonus for the littles. Also, dogs are welcome, which means whoever your children are, bring them along.
Grab a Piknik at The Westin
The much-loved PikNik is finally back at The Westin. It’s not only a bargain, but it’s a lovely way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Find a table or grab a blanket and sprawl out on the lawn with a charming picnic basket with enough goodies to feed two adults and two children. Your personal basket comes filled with treats and sweets like sandwiches, cheese selection, charcuterie meats, cold mezze, salads, warm savory bites, and sweet pastries. For a little more and a bit of extra fun, you can purchase beach and pool access, which comes with a ticket to the just opened Jungle Bay Waterpark.
Soak Up The Dubai Design District
We forget sometimes how beautiful the Dubai Design District is until we have to go there for a meeting. We walk around and remember why we love the area so much. Everywhere you turn is another piece of art: a sculpture, painting, or piece of art. There is also a skate park that is fun for those who skate, but is quite enjoyable even just to sit and watch safely from the sidelines. Or perhaps you want to test your skills on The Block, which is open to the public and completely free of charge. Whatever you do there, stop somewhere to eat. Every single restaurant in the district is absolutely delicious and it is hard to choose a favorite. But if we had to, One Life Kitchen and Cafe or Yui would probably be where we would stop for a bite.
