Swan Lake Is Finally Gracing the Dubai Opera Stage

The Moscow City Ballet is finally here in Dubai – or rather, at the Dubai Opera – with its world-renowned production of Swan Lake. The haunting music of Tchaikovsky is married with the grace, skill, and artistry of some of Russia’s most talented dancers and choreographers in this beautiful and ethereal portrayal of the doomed love story between prince and swan. Hailed as “one of the most intelligent settings of Swan Lake ever seen” by Balletco Forum, this is one opening we have been counting down the days for.

Free Opera Performance in Alserkal

This Saturday, November 28th at 6pm, Sima Performing Arts, Alserkal Avenue‘s resident world-class dance and music training grounds, is hosting a free performance for the public in Concrete in Alserkal. Don’t miss the show-stopping opera performance. And if you didn’t catch the opening of the new Alserkal Lates, well, we can’t stress it enough, take a stroll through the lanes and treat yourself to some local and regional artwork. We should also probably mention that there is a pop-up book shop hidden in the corner near A4 where you can find bestsellers and secret finds for AED10 to 20. Free opera and cheap books? Yes, please.

Wine and Cheese Night with a Touch of Jazz

Tucked away at the Emirates Golf Club, Jones the Grocer is finally opening up its Winter Terrace. Starting this weekend, on Thursday nights, guests can enjoy the dulcet sounds of jazz as they enjoy an expansive charcuterie board and cheese spread. As if that wasn’t enough, you can also relax with a bottle of wine — perfect for a soothing start to the weekend or for a sophisticated Saturday afternoon with friends or a partner. Sit back and enjoy the “Cured, Curd, and Matured” platter while you relish in Dubai’s outdoor freshness.
