Meghan And Harry Open Up About Mental Health Struggles

After reading a New York Times profile on Teenager Therapy, the podcast started by five teenagers in a living room to help others from their generation deal with important issues, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry joined teenagers, Gael, Kayla, and Thomas — three of the podcast’s hosts — for a special COVID-friendly sit-down session to talk about mental health last Thursday, which marked Mental Health Awareness Day.

In the podcast, Markle opened up about her own struggles of dealing with being the number one most-trolled person in the world in 2019 while she was on maternity leave and adjusting to her new life as a mother, as well as the toll that it took on her own mental health. Prince Harry also opened up about his own struggles, finding a community, and his coping mechanisms. Both the Duke and Duchess of Sussex spoke up in praise of the teenagers’ generation for giving space for people to talk about their vulnerability and their ability to break down the barriers of shame associated with mental health. They also shared how they find ways to care for themselves, whether it be through journaling, meditating, or keeping their intake of news positive rather than negative.

Kenzo Takada Dies from COVID-Related Complications

The fashion world is still reeling at the shocking news that avant-garde designer Kenzo Takada, aged 81, died last week at the American Hospital in Paris from complications that arose after catching COVID-19. Takada, who is known for his genderless designs, bright graphics, and vibrant colors, was the first Japanese designer to gain notoriety on the Paris fashion scene.

Tributes and messages have poured in from around the world from friends, colleagues, and even perfect strangers who were touched in some way by his creative work. A spokesperson for Takada said that the fashion pioneer “never stopped celebrating fashion and the art of living.” Fashion journalist, Suzy Menkes, spoke for everyone when she said, “He wanted to make happy clothes… it is sad when creative minds like Kenzo leave this world.”

Mean Girls Reunion. Yes, Please, and Thank You

In case you missed it last week, there was a Mean Girls reunion. And it was epic. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank Tina Fey for not only writing some of the most quotable lines in movie history, but also for getting people to sign up to vote, and then rewarding these dutiful citizens (and the rest of the world) with a Mean Girls reunion hosted by none other than Katie Couric.

The reunion featured, well, everyone from the movie except Amy Poehler, which is strange since even Amanda Seyfried showed up after literally just having had a baby — which nobody even knew about, which was a fun piece of news. During the reunion, Couric talked to the cast about their favorite lines, moments, and memories from behind the scenes, and revealed that Fey is now working on the movie adaptation of the musical adaptation of the movie. It’s gonna be so fetch.

Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, and More Lined Up for New Supermodels Docuseries

Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, and Christy Turlington are strutting down the runways of Apple TV for a new documentary series called The Supermodels, coming out next year. The series will reexamine the 90s fashion scene and dig into the supermodels’ careers and life stories. With fashion trends seeing a reemergence of the 90s, and reunions of iconic 90s casts everywhere we look, it was only a matter of time before someone took on the fashion models that defined that era.

“I’m excited to reunite with my friends to both celebrate and examine the way supermodels transcended the traditional perceptions and limits of modeling in the fashion industry through time,” stated Crawford on her Instagram. She went on to explain that the docuseries will “explore the dynamic personalities, and shifts in media and culture, that helped shape and define this iconic era.” Campbell similarly took to her social channels to say, “We hope our journey will encourage, motivate, and inspire young people around the world.”
