Trump Tests Positive for Coroanvirus
After claiming that the coronavirus is a democratic hoax, U.S. President Donald Trump tweeted Friday (a mere three days after the first presidential debate with former Vice-President Joe Biden), “Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!”
Conflicting reports of the president’s condition have surfaced with White House physician, Sean Conley, saying the president had “mild symptoms” and “his health [was] improving”, while his chief of staff, Mark Meadows, said “The president’s vitals over the last 24 hours were very concerning.” One thing they do agree on, however, is that the next couple of days will be crucial in determining the severity of the illness for the president. Meanwhile, President Trump released a video late Saturday night the he recorded from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, the hospital he was admitted to on Friday, stating that he was “starting to feel good.”
Following Trump’s announcement, 14 other White House officials and government employees who had all met with the president in the last week have all tested positive.
Pantone Releases a New Shade of Hair Dye in an Ode to Menstruation
Pantone has released a new color of hair dye in an attempt to promote ‘period positivity’ and is calling its ‘bold and confident’ new shade of red ‘Period.’ Laurie Pressman, vice president of Pantone Color Institute, released a statement saying, “Period emboldens those who menstruate to feel proud of who they are — to own their period with self-assurance; to stand up and passionately celebrate the exciting and powerful life force they are born with; to urge everyone, regardless of gender, to feel comfortable to talk spontaneously and openly about this pure and natural bodily function.” In a world where discussions on menstruation are still considered inappropriate conversation or the brunt of jokes in many places, Pantone hopes to remove the stigma and shame from future generations of women and promote positivity towards the incredible ways our bodies work.
Beloved Roald Dahl Book Gets a Remake Ahead of Halloween
Roald Dahl fans got a taste of Halloween two days ago when the first trailer for the remake of his classic novel, Witches, dropped on Youtube. Witches is the hilariously ghoulish story of a young boy who accidentally overhears a convention of child-hating witches discussing how they will turn all the children of the world into mice. When he is discovered, he himself is transformed into a mouse and it is up to him and his retired witch-huntress of a grandmother to put a stop to the witches. The remake, directed by Robert Zemeckis (of Back to the Future fame), will star Anne Hathaway, Kristin Chenowith, Octavia Spencer, Chris Rock, and Stanley Tucci, and will be available for streaming on HBO Max on October 15th. Just in time for Halloween.
Chrissy Teigen and John Legend Share Devastating News
Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are known the world over for inviting people into their dream of a life via their public Instagram accounts. Their posts and stories paint a picture of mutual respect in a strong and loving marriage, two beautiful children, a perfect Malibu life, and they recently announced to their millions of followers in Legend’s most recent music video that the happy family was expecting a third baby. But that picture-perfect world was smashed to pieces this week when they experienced the unexpected devastation of losing their pregnancy. They took to Instagram to lay raw their feelings, emotions, and grief after they had been fighting for days in the hospital to save their baby.
The horrible news comes at the onset of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. Friends, family, and fans have been pouring in their support for the grieving couple, and sharing their own stories of infant and pregnancy loss, but some trolls have taken to attacking the couple for over sharing. Kate Beckinsale took to her Instagram to defend the brave couple for being open and honest about a tragedy that so many women are forced to go through alone and to remind them that they are, indeed, not alone. In her post, she also expresses her sympathy and shares her own story of miscarriage. The Legend family has shown the world that even in our most intimate and painful moments, grief affects everyone and knows no bounds, and it is up to us, the brotherhood of man, to lend our support when those around us are suffering. Our hearts grieve with the beloved family.

We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before. We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough. . . We never decide on our babies’ names until the last possible moment after they’re born, just before we leave the hospital. But we, for some reason, had started to call this little guy in my belly Jack. So he will always be Jack to us. Jack worked so hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be, forever. . . To our Jack – I’m so sorry that the first few moments of your life were met with so many complications, that we couldn’t give you the home you needed to survive. We will always love you. . . Thank you to everyone who has been sending us positive energy, thoughts and prayers. We feel all of your love and truly appreciate you. . . We are so grateful for the life we have, for our wonderful babies Luna and Miles, for all the amazing things we’ve been able to experience. But everyday can’t be full of sunshine. On this darkest of days, we will grieve, we will cry our eyes out. But we will hug and love each other harder and get through it.

Once completed, the architecturally creative and unique building will house a space where visitors can see, touch, and shape a shared future with immersive theater and themed attractions. AZZI & OSTA Bet on Happier Days
The 2020/2021 autumn collection for AZZI & OSTA was almost ready when the world was turned upside down by the senseless explosions in the Port of Beirut, when their studio was decimated. Left to pick up the pieces of a broken economy, government, and people, AZZI & OSTA threw themselves into their atelier to bring a collection that they are dedicating to their shattered city and to humanity devastated by the pandemic. Their joy-filled color palette and optimistic designs are a warrior’s cry for hope amidst a broken people, and they continue to use their craft in fashion to bring triumph and to “bet on happy days ahead.”
