Dubai is like Disneyland for adults (and kids too). But it can be overwhelming and time-consuming filtering through everything our gorgeous city has to offer to find something to do in Dubai this weekend. And let’s be honest, after you’ve worked hard for the money all week long, the last thing you want to do is waste your precious R&R time sifting through offers and websites. Sometimes, you miss the best events merely because it takes too long to find them.

Well, Savoir Flair is here to help start your weekend off on the right note. We are giving you our favorite picks for what you should be doing this weekend in Dubai. So whether it’s a much-needed day at the beach, a well-deserved spa treatment, or a day of adventure, you have never felt more on holiday than you will in Dubai this weekend.

1

Hear Some Live Music

Live music is back at the infamous Hard Rock Cafe just in time for you and your friends to celebrate International Music Day. This weekend, put on your favorite 90s ripped jeans, t-shirt, and combat boots and head out to Dubai Festival City for some good ‘ole pub food and a hit of rock and roll. Live music hits the stage at 8:30pm and goes on until 12:30am. Featuring local musicians like Big Mouth Mikey on Thursdays, Gary from the Boxtones on Fridays, and KAZ on Saturdays, Hard Rock Cafe is your ticket to the good time you didn’t remember you needed. Legends only.

The live music is free, but it’s probably best to make reservations, which you can do here.

See the City from the Water

Dubai is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. No question. But have you ever seen it from the water? Nothing sounds more fun right now than getting on a boat and cruising the jewel-colored waters of Dubai.

Hero Boat Tours is the only self-driving boat tour in Dubai where you get to be the captain. Their small boats are practical and beautiful, and you don’t need a license to drive them. Take them out alone or have a friend ride with you as you sail past the Burj Al Arab or the Atlantis while enjoying the sun and the sea. Even better, for the month of October, you can enjoy two Hero boats for the price of one. You’re the captain now.

Make your reservations here.

Eat at the Top of the World

Look. We know you that you’ve heard of the Burj Khalifa, and if you’ve been here long enough, you know there is a restaurant called At.mosphere on the 122nd floor. So this is not something ‘new’ per se. But we also know it’s possible to live in a city for years and never visit its iconic landmarks. If you have never gone to the top of the world’s tallest building to experience a meal while looking out a window at the top of the world, then you have not lived.

The food is decent, but let’s be honest — you aren’t paying for the food. You’re paying for the view. And what a view it is. You don’t need a special excuse to treat yourself to a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Just go and enjoy yourself. Watch the sunset. Lounge as long as you need and really see this beautiful city we call home. After all, you only live once.

You may not need a reason to celebrate, but you will need a reservation, which you can do here

Dance in the Rain Without Getting Wet

Did you know that right next door to us in Sharjah, we have the first permanent installation of the Rain Room by Random International, a London-based art group famous for experiential installation art? The work has previously only been on view at the Barbican in London, MoMA in New York City, Yuz Museum in Shanghai, and the LACMA in Los Angeles, but the Sharjah Art Foundation brought it to the UAE in its Middle East premiere as well as its first permanent installation.

It’s an amazing feat of technology. It pours down rain everywhere, except where it detects a human presence, making it possible to dance in the rain without getting wet. My friends, you must see this world-renowned exhibit. It is a beautiful and majestic piece of art.

Visit a Pop-Up Sensory Museum

Imagine a place where every touchpoint ignites a different sense. A place where you are surrounded by a sensory overload and your fingers, eyes, and ears are left to wonder and delight in slime, kinetic sand, ASMR sounds, magnets, art, and so much more.

Well, for two days this weekend, you can visit the Oddly ZXatisfying pop-up art museum in celebration of the Adidas Originals new ZX 2K BOOST silhouettes. Now this is a whole new (and wonderful) level of shoe shopping that we can totally get on board with.

The Oddly ZXatisfying Museum, located in Building 6, Ground Floor, Dubai Design District, is open this Friday and Saturday, October 2 and 3, from 2pm till 10pm.
