Beyoncé Grants $1 million to Black-Owned Small Businesses

Typically, on our birthdays we get gifts, but for Beyoncé’s 39th birthday it was the other way around. Earlier this year, Beyoncé set up a fund in partnership with the NAACP to grant $1 million to black-owned small businesses, and on her birthday this year she announced a new round of funding through her charitable organization BeyGood. An additional million will be donated, available in amounts up to $10,000 “in select cities to help sustain business during this time”.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Ink Deal with Netflix

If you’ve been wondering what the former Sussex Royals were planning after exiting the royal family, your answer has arrived. Sex and the City Creator Has a New Show Coming to Netflix

It’s been 16 years since HBO’s Sex and the City series ended, but the groundbreaking show has remained in the pop culture lexicon ever since. Showrunner Darren Star is back with the announcement of a new show, Emily in Paris, starring Lily Collins. The series will drop on October 2 on Netflix, but its content has already ruffled feathers in France’s capital city. French critics and social media commentators have decried the show’s glossy portrayal of Paris. One user shared, “Stop lying about Paris. That’s why tourists get traumatised when they come for the first time,” but then followed it up with, “Can’t wait to watch.” Will it be a trainwreck or a runaway hit? Peep the trailer below if you’re curious.

By taking transparency to a new level and sharing the full craftsmanship journey of its diamonds, Tiffany reinforces the brand’s commitment to ensuring that every step in the journey of its products contributes to the well-being of people and the planet.

Burberry Designs Costumes for Marina Abramović’s Opera Project

Marina Abramović’s new opera project, 7 Deaths of Maria Callas, greeted the world stage at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich last week in regal Burberry costuming. A collaborative effort between Burberry’s Chief Creative Officer Riccardo Tisci and renowned artist Abramović gave rise to a spectacular series of clothes that depicted the house’s craftsmanship and technique as well as a cross-eximination of the historical notions of masculine and feminine style. The costumes play an integral part in the artistic performance as they serve as a key component in the characters’ journey in each scene.

“I have wanted to make 7 Deaths for 30 years. To die from a broken heart is the thread which draws together each opera in a project which is centred around love and its forms, as much as my relationship with Riccardo. When the opportunity for this project started to become real, there was no other team I wanted to work with: Riccardo had to make all the costumes because we are love, he is fashion and I am art, two worlds that cross over in a creative dialogue of love, respect and freedom. I am so proud of this work as a team and grateful to Riccardo for teaching me how to be elegant and confident as a woman in my life and in my performances,” Abramović shared in a statement.
