Hey, remember back in February, when everyone told you not to worry and that did absolutely nothing to help? Same. The world is unrecognizable since those days, with many now turning to old-school boardgames to keep themselves both challenged and entertained. But here at Savoir Flair, we do things a little differently.

While people around the world test their patience by playing Monopoly or Scrabble with loved ones, we’re (once again) turning to The School of Life. The UK-based organization is often described as the global headquarters of developing emotional intelligence, and its store in the King’s Cross area of London is one we often frequent. Now, with traveling not an option, we’ve stocked up on games – all done with razor-sharp wit – from its e-shop that do everything from prompt meaningful conversations and improve romantic relationships to encourage us to look inward. Here, we’ve reveal which one is perfect for you based on your current living situation.

If you live alone, now is the time to truly know yourself – as the name suggests. With the help of these prompt cards, you’ll discover what you really want, learn more about how you feel, and tap into why you react the way you do. Designed to restart relationships, it reopens channels of emotional communication that have – very understandably – become clogged up over time.

Mr & Mrs

If You Live with a Spouse

The strength of marriages is being tested left, right, and center these days, with people discovering a side of their spouses they may not like. What this box does, however, is lay out the central ideas on how to make a relationship work over the decades beyond the wedding day, beyond the honeymoon period, beyond this phase of lockdown. Filled with artful suggestions on coping with the challenges of building a life together, think of this set as both a celebration of marriage and a source of insights into the skills it demands.

Family Matters

If You Live with Your Family

No, this isn’t about confessing to eating the last of the cookies – it goes a little deeper than that. The game asks participants to answer a series of questions around career, family, money, and more, gently inviting everyone to share important bits of themselves with parents, grandparents, siblings, or in-laws in a playful atmosphere. Things may get a little awkward on occasion, but by thinking of confessions as a game – as opposed to a risky affair – the cards allow us to be a little more honest with the people who matter most.
