At a time when the papers are rife with grim headlines – some real, some downright sensationalized – we’re adamant to bring you good news whenever possible. Thanks to cultural institutions like National Theatre and NYUAD Arts Center, theatergoers and melophiles are set and, today, an announcement by Cinema Akil is sure to cheer up film buffs.
The beloved arthouse cinema in Alserkal Avenue has teamed up with Mubi, a video-on-demand platform for indie films, to make social distancing a tad easier. Not only will this collaboration allow you access to critically acclaimed arthouse films for a whopping 90 days (yes, that’s three whole months) while you stay home, but at any given time, there will be 30 titles from a rotating selection to choose from – all free of charge. Stay tuned for Cinema Akil’s recommendations in the coming days, and sign up here.
