With all cafés and restaurants in Dubai closed since Monday, we find ourselves constantly jonesing for a decent cup of joe – and we’re not alone. TikTok, the fastest growing social media app on the planet, is responsible for yet another trend in the social distancing era: dalgona coffee.
As pretty as it is delicious, this iced drink originated in South Korea and, luckily for us, couldn’t possibly be easier to whip up at home. All it takes is a combination of equal parts instant coffee, granulated sugar (any kind, as long as it’s granulated), and boiling water. Whip with a hand mixer until it has thickened, and then pour over ice and milk. Et voilà , a cup of dalgona coffee for you to enjoy and, of course, post on social media immediately.
@imhannahchoyes i hand whisked this whipped coffee for like 20 mins bc my mommy wanted to try it 👻 she loved it!! (ë‹¬ê³ ë‚˜ 커피) ##korean ##fyp ##aesthetic♬ Put your head on my shoulder cover by karlo – karlogutierrez
