Versace to Launch 'Medusa Frame' Watch
You love the iconic jungle-print Versace dress worn by Jennifer Lopez (twice!), but you dare not wear anything like it. Enter: the ‘Medusa Frame’ watch that will launch in April. The timepiece combines the classic with the contemporary, featuring traditional Roman indexes on the dial and four small Medusa studs on the outer frame – hence the name. Most interesting is the fact that the ivory or black leather slip-through strap can be replaced with a Versace foulard in either the house’s ‘Barocco’ or ‘Jungle’ print.
Chanel Taps Marion Cotillard as Face of 'Nº5'
A style icon meets a scent icon as Marion Cotillard has been tapped to be the new face of Chanel ‘Nº5’. This one’s a big deal for several reasons. “This is the first time that the most respected French actress in Hollywood is lending her image to a fragrance,” said a statement released by the French luxury label, with the French actress set to appear in a campaign later this year.
Disney to Release Princess-Inspired Wedding Dresses
Some fairytales really do come true. Case in point: Disney princess-inspired wedding dresses are now a thing. Allure Bridals is set to soon release the ‘Disney Fairy Tale Weddings’ collection that will feature 16 distinct styles in a variety of fabrics and silhouettes that capture the “style and spirit” of Disney Princess characters such as Ariel, Aurora, Jasmine, and Cinderella. These will be unveiled during New York Bridal Fashion Week in April 2020, and all gowns will be available in sizes 0 to 30.
Hermès Opens a New Store in Kuwait
Taking up residence at the second-biggest shopping mall in the Middle East, The Avenues, Hermès opened its new store in Kuwait last week. Not only does the sprawling two-story space showcase the full offering of the Parisian label’s 16 métiers to give clients a broader and more dynamic array of its collections, but for the first time in Kuwait, shoppers will have access to homeware by Hermès – read: tableware, fabrics, furniture, and wallpaper.
Friends Cast (Finally) Confirm Reunion
The Friends cast members have finally confirmed their unscripted reunion show on upcoming streaming service HBO Max, with five of the six stars taking to Instagram to post a photo of that iconic Rolling Stone cover from 1995 with the caption, “It’s happening.” Matt LeBlanc chose to do things a little differently by using a photo of the M*A*S*H cast, but either way, we’ll now wait will bated breath for HBO Max to launch in May 2020.
