Pageantry Makes History
What do Miss America, Miss USA, Miss Teen USA, and Miss Universe all have in common in 2019? For the first time in history, they are all women of color. Kaliegh Garris won this year’s Miss Teen USA title, Nia Franklin was crowned Miss America, Cheslie Kryst won Miss USA, and Zozibini Tunzi was named Miss Universe. Considering that these same pageants did not permit women of color to compete until 1970, that’s a massive stride forward.

Mulberry Launches First Fully Sustainable Tote
Just in time for the holidays, Mulberry has launched its new ‘Portobello’ tote for the eco-conscious. As its first 100 percent sustainable leather bag, the ‘Portobello’ cements the brand’s commitment to social and environmental responsibility.
The bag is made entirely in the UK at carbon-neutral factories, is stitched with Epic EcoVerde thread, and has been awarded the gold standard rating by Leather Working Group. Furthermore, 100 percent of net proceeds from the sale of the bag will go to World Land Trust, a conservation charity that provides permanent protection for habitats and wildlife. And did we mention it’s also incredibly chic? Take a look.
