Emma Stone Shows Off Her New Stone
Actor Emma Stone and SNL writer Dave McCary took to social to announce their engagement. In the photo posted by McCary to his Instagram account, Stone shows off her new ring, which is centered – not on a diamond – on a pearl. The two are extremely private about their relationship (truth be told, we had no idea she was dating anyone, much less on the verge of getting married), but have reportedly been dating since the summer of 2017. It seems like congratulations are in order!
And the Winners Are...
Hosted by the British Fashion Council, The Fashion Awards 2019 brought with it some obvious and not-so-obvious winners. Rihanna was a clear frontrunner for the Urban Luxe award, and she won it while decked head-t0-toe in her Fenty line. Unsurprisingly, Daniel Lee of Bottega Veneta was also a big winner that night, scooping up awards in all of the four categories that he was nominated in: Accessories Designer of the Year, Womenswear Designer of the Year, Brand of the Year, and Designer of the Year. Meanwhile, Adut Akech won for Model of the Year, Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen won the Trailblazer Award, and Naomi Campbell was crowned a fashion icon.
Rihanna Taps Amina Muaddi for Fenty
Not only are Amina Muaddi’s shoe designs completely unique (and often imitated), but so is her business model. She launched without the safety net of traditional marketing, choosing instead to do it on her own by posting direct-to-consumer via social media. Now, the half-Jordanian designer has been tapped by Rihanna to design shoes for her fashion label Fenty, reportedly a freelance project while she continues to design for her eponymous brand and Alexandre Vauthier.
