Perfect for those with not just a sweet tooth, but an entire sweet digestive system, the Candy Cane House is every dentist’s worst nightmare. Available to guests for only two nights later this month – December 18 to 19 – this festive hideaway in London’s Soho district smells, looks, and tastes like your favorite festive foodstuffs, starting with an edible Christmas wreath.
Admittedly, we’re not quite at Hansel and Gretel levels – don’t try and chomp into the skirting board – but the majority of the décor is ready to munch. The ‘candy lounge’ comes complete with sweet-filled baubles, a candy cane-covered tree, and a tray of cupcakes, which you can enjoy from marshmallow-shaped stools and candy-colored couches. Follow star-cookie stepping stones into the so-called ‘ginger-breadroom’, a fairy tale-inspired fir forest with edible chocolate pine cones and a delectable gingerbread clock.
We’re not sure you’re really going to need a kitchen, but if you must stray into normal food, the kitchen comes with a cheeseboard as well as retro pick ‘n’ mix, melting chocolate walls, and a caramel floor. Even the bathroom is disconcertingly mouth-watering, and the house really earns its name with a diagonal red-and-white color scheme channelling a traditional candy cane aesthetic.
“Christmas is one of those times of the year when we all love a little bit of indulgence,” says Ryan Pearson, regional manager at Booking.com. “With a mission to make it easier for everyone to experience the world, our Candy Cane House promises something for every type of sweet tooth. Located in one of the UK’s most iconic London locations, we are so excited to offer our customers a chance to experience our sweetest stay yet!”
Eat your heart out, Willy Wonka.
