Meghan Markle Speaks Up
The tabloid rumors around Meghan Markle have been unusually cruel since she came into the spotlight. Earlier this month, Prince Harry sued several publications for unlawfully publishing a private letter, and compared the treatment of his wife by the press to the way his mother, Princess Diana, was treated.
To her credit, Markle has remained calm under increasing pressure, but everyone has their limits. When a journalist asked her how she was coping, the duchess got brutally honest, admitting that she is struggling, especially as a new mom. You can see the heartbreaking exchange in the video clip, below.
NASA Makes History with First All-Female Spacewalk
Over the weekend, NASA astronauts Christina Koch and Jessica Meir embarked on the first ever all-female spacewalk in order to repair a failed power control unit on the International Space Station. “In the past, women haven’t always been at the table. It’s wonderful to be contributing to the space program at a time when all contributions are being accepted, when everyone has a role. That can lead in turn to increased chance for success,” shared Koch. The nearly six-hour spacewalk took place 260 miles above Earth and was live streamed for the world to watch.

See how she hilariously handled ‘breaking’ Instagram, below.

Bottega Veneta Opens Flagship in Kuwait
Italian luxury brand Bottega Veneta has a new point of sale in the Middle East – its first flagship store in Kuwait, located at The Avenues mall, is now open. In homage to the house’s legacy, the façade is crafted to resemble its signature ‘intrecciato’ motif, while all of the elements of the boutique’s interior are elegantly handcrafted. Inside, visitors will find an extensive range of Bottega Veneta pieces for both men and women, including ready-to-wear, bags, small leather goods, shoes, jewelry, fragrances, and eyewear.
Tod’s Appoints New Creative Director
When Alessandra Facchinetti departed Tod’s in 2016, the Italian luxury brand was operated by an internal design team. Tod’s now has a new Creative Director, Walter Chiapponi, who hails from Bottega Veneta and brings an innate understanding of Italian craftsmanship to the table, having also worked at Valentino, Gucci, and Miu Miu.
Regarding the appointment, Chiapponi shared, “It is a great honor to work for this group. Tod’s is a brand that has always represented an excellence in the international panorama of Italian quality and style. Being able to contribute to the development of this Italian lifestyle is, for me, a challenge and a reason to be proud.” His first collection for Tod’s will debut during the Fall/Winter 2020 season.
