Anne Hathaway Announces Second Pregnancy

The notoriously private Anne Hathaway gave us a sneak peek of her second pregnancy in a highly personal Instagram post. The actress, who is married to producer Adam Shulman, announced she was in the family way with a note that read, “… For everyone going through infertility and conception hell, please know it was not a straight line to either of my pregnancies.” The post prompted an outpouring of love and support from celebrity friends and fans alike, with some commenters sharing their own issues and struggles with fertility.

Influencer Fraud Costs Advertisers Billions

With engagement rates on Instagram reaching an all-time low, there is further proof that the influencer bubble is bursting. With sponsored posts now saturating our feeds, Instagram users are more aware of the fact that they’re being constantly sold to by influencers. Brands also risk diluting their message when influencers support multiple brands in the same sector, showing loyalty to all instead of a select few. 

Not only are users trusting influencers less, a new report has also exposed the fact that Instagram fraud has become a huge problem. With click farms providing easy, cheap, and mostly untraceable likes, views, and comments, influencers can fake their statistics and partner with brands on a fraudulent premise. According to Business of Fashion, “Marketers this year will spend $8.5 billion on influencers, according to Mediakix, which forecasts that spending to hit $10 billion next year.”

Rihanna Finds Her Dopplegänger

If you were scrolling through Instagram last week and spotted a photo of Rihanna as a young girl, congratulations – you got tricked along with the rest of us. The popstar-turned-beauty mogul-turned-fashion designer posted a striking photo of what looked like either a young version of herself or possibly an image altered with FaceApp, which makes users look either older or younger.

It turns out it wasn’t a trick of the eye at all, but actually Rihanna’s doppelgänger, a seven-year-old aspiring actress and model named Bria Kay. Count on RiRi to have the best reaction to the startling resemblance: “almost drop my phone. how?”

Ralph Lauren Documentary Debuts

Very Ralph, the first documentary about fashion designer Ralph Lauren, is set to debut on HBO on November 12. With a 50-year legacy as an entrepreneur, businessman, icon, and weaver of dreams, his long history as America’s premiere sportswear designer will finally be told. From his boyhood in the Bronx to the top of the fashion heap, Lauren’s rise has been meteoric. With support from friends and colleagues like Karl Lagerfeld, Hillary Clinton, and Jessica Chastain, his story will soon come vividly to life on a television near you.
