Awards Season Draws to a Close with the Oscars
Though they were sans host, the 91st Academy Awards proved that the show didn’t need one to be a success – there was plenty else to enjoy. With a few predicted wins (Bohemian Rhapsody star Rami Malek took home Best Actor) and a few upsets (Glenn Close lost for the seventh time), much of the show made big headlines the next day.
Acclaimed activist-director Spike Lee finally received his first award for Best Adapted Screenplay for BlacKkKlansman after being nominated four times, taking his time on stage to speak on today’s political climate. Roma winning for Best Foreign Language Film marked the first-ever award for Mexico in this category, but the biggest moment of the night had to be that chemistry-fueled Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper duet that kept audiences on the edge of their seats.
Selma Blair Publicly Tackles Multiple Sclerosis
After a few years of being out of the spotlight, actress Selma Blair reappeared on the red carpet for the Academy Awards after-party with one noticeable accessory: a cane. Though she announced her multiple sclerosis (MS) diagnosis last October, this was the first time she stepped out publicly to demonstrate that the autoimmune disease will not hold her back from living her life.
Aiming to bring more awareness to MS, Blair also sat down for a touching interview with Good Morning America host, Robin Roberts. Publicly braving the illness that affects her brain and spinal chord, the Cruel Intentions actress shows no signs of giving up.

There are moments that define us. This is one of those indelibly watermarked in my heart. This is #troynankin ; my former publicist turned manager , best friend , and fake husband. We joke. I have become a different woman in the last few years, through struggles and the intense pride of motherhood. @vanityfair has always been a champion of mine, like Troy. And yet, I have not fully realized my capabilities as an actress. I wanted to be at this red carpet to remember my first time attending with a not yet famous friend, @jakegyllenhaal . I believed in him and his career and wanted him there. And this dinner always symbolizes so much. And I kept going because it was always a night in hollywood that was full of hollywood dreams with all the talent present in their glory. I loved to watch. I was invited this year. I am featured in March issue . Thank you @radhikajones @kristasmith @samiranasr #juliemiller @cassblackbird . So this was a streak of light. To say I am here. I am still in an exacerbation so there was some nervousness. I don’t do anything the way I was once able. I will though. I can regain much. Mommas gotta work. And I will be able to do so much more on my own, But this man. Until that comes …This man and a host of others light the way and hold the moon @thetexastroya was a hero. Wanting me to shine brightly in a time that can be so challenging. He knew I wanted to be able to stand proudly as the woman I have become and hope to be. To be a part of something so special when my body won’t move clearly yet. And then I felt the love from the photographers who have watched me goof around on red carpets since I was in my twenties. I felt the warmth of the bulbs. The strength of my gown. His attentive touch. And still I hoped my brain could send signals for the remainder of my time there. And I sobbed. And I appreciated every single second. Every surprising tear, he was there. As he has always been. And that is the reason I could. Thank you Troy. We got me just where I wanted to be. For a night. And I later pushed my way into a family photo with @dianaross (omg) . So much to post but not before this one. True love. Right here. Forever.
Details on Rihanna's Collaboration with LVMH Are Released
We first heard rumblings of this new joint venture back in January, and it seems that LVMH and Rihanna are putting their money where their mouths are. Reportedly investing over $34 million of her own money into the business – named Project Loud France after her fifth studio album – the popstar is set to be the minority owner and the first black female head of a luxury house. This highly anticipated project is also the first brand launch for LVMH since Christian Lacroix in 1987 – stylish shoes that RiRi is bound to fill effortlessly.
Zendaya and Tommy Hilfiger Throw Legend-Filled Party
Not only is Zendaya multitalented, socially aware, and super relatable, but she also brings her signature upbeat energy to every aspect of her brand. Ever since the big reveal of her collaborative collection with Tommy Hilfiger, the hype around the #TommyNow show has been palpable.
Bringing out the likes of Grace Jones, Debra Shaw, Pat Cleveland, and Beverley Johnson – alongside contemporary models Halima Aden and Winnie Harlow – for the Tommy x Zendaya runway, inclusion was the name of the game last night. Between its disco theme and that line-up of legendary models, this was a Paris Fashion Week highlight for sure.

Solange Knowles Releases New Music
While some might know Solange Knowles as Beyoncé’s younger sister, others know her as a bona fide musical artist in her own right. Releasing a follow-up to her critically acclaimed third album A Seat at the Table, the singer-songwriter has just released When I Get Home. With jazz, R&B, and electro influences as well as guest appearances by artists like Gucci Mane, Pharrell, Earl Sweatshirt, and Tyler, The Creator, this might be Solange’s best work yet.
