The British royal family tends to commemorate special occasions with the release of new portraits, and Kate Middleton’s birthday was no exception. In honor of her turning 37, Kensington Palace posted this beautiful profile photo of the Duchess of Cambridge smiling and looking off into the distance on its official Twitter account.
We can’t help but point out how down-to-earth she looks here – just as we imagine her to be. In fact, we were hardly surprised when it was reported that she celebrated with the definitive English tradition: a rather low-key tea party. Visibly absent from the occasion, however, was her husband Prince William, who was marking the 30th anniversary of London’s Air Ambulance. And, of course, what is everyone still talking about a day later? The dad joke he made about ‘remembering’ the big day, which you can see in the tweet, below.
