Use the term “Christmas feast” during the Word Association game, and you’re bound to hear the following: turkey, gravy, roast potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, mince pies, and pudding. But what if you’re ready to stray from culinary tradition? The festive season in a city as diverse as Dubai means there’s always a cosmopolitan twist at hand, so you can journey to China through Peking duck, India with cassava chaat, and Turkey thanks to levrek and lahmacun. Here, Savoir Flair rounds up ten truly international offerings to get you started.

1

Frevo

Brazil

If celebrating Christmas on a beach somewhere in Brazil sounds appealing, head to Frevo at Fairmont The Palm for dinner on Christmas Eve. Not only will festive favorites like turkey, shrimps, and scallops make an appearance, but the churrascaria will also serve prime skewered meats carved tableside in South Brazilian style, seasonal salads, and Brazilian holiday desserts from 7 p.m. to midnight. Live entertainment, courtesy of the resident band, will add a touch of South American flair to the affair.
