Because who hasn’t had their heart broken?

Somewhere in the City of Angels resides the Museum of Broken Relationships, a museum dedicated to failed relationships and their ruins, a shrine of sorts to the seemingly mundane objects that personify a devastating break-up and have been donated anonymously – think: a promise ring, a hairbrush with matted dog fur, used contact lenses, an almost complete collection of Lone Wolf and Cub. Also on display are all manner of relationship relics that would ordinarily be burned for cathartic purposes: love letters, wedding dresses, and more.

What caught our eye, however, is the kind of raw honesty that a visit to this museum provokes, as illustrated by a glance at its Instagram account. It documents the many confessions left behind by museumgoers admitting to everything from an unhealthy attachment style and inability to let go to persisting guilt and how much pain they’re really in. And considering that over 23,800 are following the account, these messages are clearly resonating with people worldwide.
