Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Are Expecting
Five months after her epic wedding to Prince Harry, Meghan Markle is expecting. Kensington Palace released a statement this week announcing the pregnancy, saying, “Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019. Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public.”

Pippa Middleton Gives Birth
Pippa Middleton might not be British royalty, but as the sister of Kate Middleton, she certainly is royalty-adjacent. For that reason, her pregnancy has played out in public. With her husband at her side, Pippa gave birth to a healthy baby boy on October 15th at St. Mary’s Hospital in London, where all of the royal children were born.
Karlie Kloss Weds Joshua Kushner
Although Karlie Kloss just announced her engagement three months ago, she has already tied the knot with beau Joshua Kushner. She surprised everyone on Friday when she posted a photo of the wedding ceremony, during which she wore a gorgeous Dior gown. According to People magazine, the small ceremony of 80 guests included only close friends and family – there’s no word yet if Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner (her new in-laws) were in attendance.
Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson Split
We hate to say, “I told you so” but it comes as little surprise that a mere 126 days after announcing their brash engagement, popstar Ariana Grande and Saturday Night Live comedian Pete Davidson have called it quits.
Although the two lived together in her $16 million NYC apartment and recently bought a pet pig adorably named Piggy Smalls together, their rushed engagement (that came after dating for less than one month) seemed like it was careening off the path from the beginning. The two claim that they still love each other and will remain friends, but we think their fate was practically pre-ordained.
Gigi Hadid Addresses Paparazzi Harassment
After being sued for posting a photo to Instagram that did not credit the paparazzi photographer who took it, Gigi Hadid took to Instagram to lay bare the facts. In a tersely worded post, the model called out the harassment that celebrities face every day at the hands of the paparazzi, which includes life-endangering behaviors like following them too closely in cars – remember what happened to Princess Diana?
Being stalked by paparazzi has become an accepted part of being famous, but Hadid argues that she and her celebrity peers deserve the right to privacy. It’s about time someone called out our culture’s obsession with stalking celebrities.
Rihanna Declines Super Bowl Halftime Show
More and more, celebrities are getting political, and we’re here for it. Beauty mogul and popstar Rihanna is the latest to join the fray after a story broke that she refused the NFL’s request to play the Super Bowl halftime show because she disagreed with the organization’s stance on kneeling during the anthem.
In solidarity with Colin Kaepernick, the football star who started the NFL protest movement, Rihanna chose to deny the NFL’s offer. Comedian Amy Schumer has come forward on Instagram, asking that Maroon 5 – a band already slated to perform – also follow suit.
Zendaya Is Named Tommy Hilfiger’s New Brand Ambassador
Tommy Hilfiger has been strategic in tapping the Instagram generation in recent years, having partnered with Gigi Hadid and Hailey Baldwin for past campaigns. Now, the beloved American sportswear brand has announced its latest Tommy Girl, Zendaya. The young actress and style icon will front Tommy Hilfiger’s campaigns and help design a capsule collection that launched as a See Now, Buy Now line in February.
In a statement to the press, the eponymous designer shared his enthusiasm about the new collaboration, saying, “I love to collaborate with people who are passionate about making their dreams a reality and who inspire the next generation to do the same. Zendaya has become a global icon, using fashion to make bold statements while always staying true to herself. Our capsule collection will fuse her eclectic style with the Americana spirit of our brand.”
Dior to Unveil Major Retrospective at V&A
On February 2nd, 2019, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London will open its doors to host the largest and most comprehensive Christian Dior exhibition ever staged in the UK. Titled Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams, this sprawling fashion exhibition will showcase the label’s legendary designs, like the ‘Bar’ jacket, alongside the designer’s impressive fashion legacy.
In a statement to the press, curator Oriole Cullen stated, “In 1947, Christian Dior changed the face of fashion with his New Look, which redefined the female silhouette and reinvigorated the post-War Parisian fashion industry. The influence of Christian Dior’s design was all-pervasive and helped to define an era.”
