On a particularly windy day – one that threatened to undo all of the elaborate hair fasteners and Philip Treacy hats that are part of the royally-mandated dress code – Princess Eugenie of York, 27, married her longtime beau, Jack Brooksbank, 32, at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. The couple first met while skiing in a Swiss resort town, where the princess’s parents own a home, and continued dating over a long distance for several years.
The royal affair was attended by friends of the couple, like Demi Moore, Cara Delevingne, and Liv Tyler, but one celebrity pair was strangely missing from the nuptials. George Clooney, owner of Casamigos for whom Brooksbank is the UK Brand Ambassador, and his wife Amal Clooney – who attended the royal wedding of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry – were missing from the line-up. Since they weren’t there to steal the spotlight, other celebrities like Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss shouldered the task in chic, streamlined ensembles and extravagant headpieces. Many British designers were favored for the occasion, with an emphasis on polished looks by Stella McCartney.
