Mystery woman KeKe may no longer love him, but Drake has felt plenty of it in the past couple of weeks as a handful of lyrics from his “In My Feelings” song (KeKe, do you love me? Are you riding? Say you’ll never ever leave from beside me) have somehow snowballed into a full-fledged viral dance challenge of the same name. But who is KeKe? And why is her loyalty being questioned? Let’s start at the beginning.
Rumor has it that Drake and Canadian singer and TV host Keshia Chanté dated when the two of them were teenagers – back when he was just 14-year-old Aubrey. Clearly, this was no ordinary relationship because fans are convinced that his not-so-subtle lyrics to “In My Feelings” are referring to her. It’s also hardly a coincidence that her name has appeared in his previously released songs, “Fallen” and “Deceiving”.
The sappy love song took an animated turn when internet comedian Shiggy uploaded a video of himself dancing to the track onto his Instagram account, racking up over five million views in under three weeks – and that’s how the #dotheshiggy dance challenge was born. On last count, there were 123,826 posts filed under #inmyfeelingschallenge, and 68,708 posts under #dotheshiggy. Either way, we’ve loved watching celebrities take the plunge. Below, we share the good, the bad, and the downright painful contestants – and why Will Smith wins this one.
