Serena Williams Launches Fashion Line
There’s no one we’d rather see join the body-positivity movement than the inspiring tennis athlete and all-around superhuman, Serena Williams. This week, WWD announced that Williams will be launching a new fashion collection called Serena, whose theme is centered on self-love and self-acceptance. In a statement to the press, Williams said, “The customer is a girl or a woman who believes in herself, or wants to believe in herself; maybe she’s feeling unconfident that day. [She is] someone that is unapologetically [herself].”

The immensely influential and beloved designer, Alexander McQueen, died in 2010 — leaving an enormous hole in the fashion landscape. Since then, there have been several books and exhibitions about his life, but none more realized than the impending documentary McQueen, which is set to be released on July 20, 2018. This heartbreaking documentary, directed by Ian Bonhôte and Peter Ettedgui, explores the designer’s life, designs, and impact on fashion. Dior ‘Backstage’ is available right now on Dior.com, and will launch worldwide via Sephora and Sephora.com on June 15.
Sarah’s Bag Collaborates With Herfah By Naima
Lebanese fashion house, Sarah’s Bag, and inspiring Saudi fashion brand, Herfah by Naima, have partnered for a unique collaborative project. Both brands happen to see eye-to-eye when it comes to employing female artisans, preserving native craftsmanship, and elevating the underprivileged women in their home countries. Their shared outlook benefits their beautiful new bag collection. For the design, Herfah by Naima brought together artisans in Qassim, Saudi Arabia to create the woven ‘saddu’ elements which make up the body of the bag. Sarah’s Bags tapped its stable of artisans to embroider the bags with the word “Salaam”, meaning “peace”, in Arabic. Made with care by human hands, no two bags are alike.
